The Worcester Mountaineering Club is a collection of around 50 local mountaineers, climbers, and walkers who all share a passion for adventure and the outdoors.

WMC members regularly organise trips in the UK, Europe and beyond with the emphasis on adventure, enjoyment and a good pub. From cragging in the UK and ice climbing in Norway, to Munro bagging in Scotland and airy alpine adventures … there is definitely something for everyone. We make the most of every opportunity to get out and have fun – with last minute plans for the weekend often hatched down the pub on a Thursday night! Check out our Meets page to see what we’ve been up to lately and what’s coming up.

The WMC offers the opportunity to meet like-minded people who are passionate about high places. If you are 18+ then we would love to hear from you.

If you’ve never climbed before but would like to give it a go, then locally, training can be obtained through Martley Climbing Wall, Vertical Limit, Redpoint Climbing Centre, the Worcestershire County Council Llanrug Outdoor Centre, other local climbing walls and instructors.

We meet at The Dragon Inn 51 The Tything in Worcester from 8.30 pm on the first and third Thursday of every month.

Many of the members attend Vertical Limit on Monday evenings and Martley Wall or Redpoint Climbing Centre on Wednesday evenings.

Please contact us to find out more about the club or to arrange to meet up.
